Company History

1946

Mark Andrews, Sr. (1904-1980), builds the first Mark Andy tape press in his basement machine shop, located in Kirkwood, Missouri

1950's

The company begins manufacturing narrow web presses; designing rotary die cutting and converting equipment for pressure-sensitive papers

1960's-70’s

Mark Andy brings in-line flexographic printing presses to the label marketplace; introducing the consolidated 800 Series

 

In the late 1960’s, Mark Andrews, Jr. takes over the business from his father

 

In 1979, Mark Andy moves to Chesterfield, Missour

1980's

Mark Andy revolutionizes the print workflow with Quick Change (QC) technology

 

The 2000 Series press is launched

1990’s

In 1993, Mark Andy survives the historic Missouri River Great Flood

 

Mark Andy Inc. is acquired by Dover Corporation in 1995

 

In 1997, Mark Andrews, Sr. receives the Label Industry Man of Achievement Award

Early 2000's

In 2001 Mark Andy Inc. acquires Comco (est. 1970) and UVTechnology, expanding the company's capabilities in narrow web printing and UV curing

 

Mark Andy achieves its ISO-9001 certification

 

Mark Andy LP3000 and XP5000 presses are introduced

 

Mark Andy VSR product line is launched, expanding the product offering of the brand to include inspection and rewind solutions

2006

Mark Andy Inc. receives the 2006 FTA Technical Innovation Award for its innovative solutions and contributions in the field of RFID

 

Comco C2 is introduced

 

Mark Andy, Inc. is acquired by Morgenthaler Partners and Mark Andy management

2007

Rotoflex International receives the 2007 Continuous Innovation Award, recognizing the company as a long-established, innovative and pioneering company; instrumental in continuously developing the science and technology of the label industry.

 

Mark Andy establishes a dedicated service and support team providing a partnership throughout the life cycle of the equipment

2008

Comco C1 brings new applications capabilities to the narrow web market

 

UVTechnology is rebranded as UVT - The Future of UV Curing

 

Mark Andy Inc. is acquired by American Industrial Partners (AIP) and MAI Holdings

 

Mark Andy Inc. acquires Rotoflex International (est. 1973), substantially expanding its brand portfolio to include the world's most recognized brand of inspection and rewind solutions

2009

Mark Andy Performance Series is introduced as a solution for faster changeovers and superior print quality to converters worldwide.

2010

Mark Andy Inc. acquires Arpeco and integrates its line of inspection/rewind equipment into its globally successful Rotoflex brand offering

 

The highly successful Mark Andy Performance Series product line is expanded, introducing the P5 and P3 models to the industry.

2011

Mark Andy receives the 2011 FTA Technical Innovation Award for its revolutionary Performance Series press technology.

 

Mark Andy receives the 2011 FlexoTech International Print & Innovation Award for the P3 model of the Performance Series line.

2012

The Rotoflex VLI undergoes a redesign, positively impacting converter workflow

 

Mark Andy introduces its Quick Change Die Cut (QCDC) technology, dramatically decreasing die changeover times and increasing productivity for printers worldwide

 

Mark Andy unveils a new UK show room, offering product demonstrations and testing for global clients

 

Mark Andy University is introduced, offering classes in Print Training, Maintenance Training and LEAN Optimization

 

Mark Andy Inc. acquires Print Products Inc., a distributor of flexographic supplies

2013

Mark Andy’s environmentally friendly ProLED curing system receives two technical innovation awards -  FlexoTech International Print & Innovation Award and Label Industry Global Award

 

Mark Andy is awarded the 2013 FTA Technical Innovation Award for its QCDC technology.

 

Mark Andy Inc. acquires the offset supplies portion of Presstek, Inc., establishing distribution of a variety of prepress, pressroom supplies, consumables, and chemistries which includes the renowned A.B. Dick brand

 

Mark Andy Print Products business unit is established as a result of the Presstek and Print Products Inc. acquisitions, offering more than 12,000 supplies and consumables for press room operation.

 

Mark Andy unveils its Digital Series press – a fully configurable, high speed “hybrid” inkjet printing platform delivering best-in-class quality at the lowest cost per unit.

Mark Andy Print Products announces formal distributor relationship with DuPont Packaging Graphics, offering a full line of DuPont® Cyrel™ prepress platemaking equipment and supplies.
