Last week Digital One made its European debut at our United Kingdom facility as a part of the 2017 Digital One Roadshow Series.
During the tail end of 2016, the Mark Andy team traveled across the United States, hosting live demos of the press from Long Island, New York all the way to Orange County, California. Strong domestic interest prompted the company to mirror the approach in Europe, introducing to the overseas market an approachable hybrid printing technology in a roadshow forum.
Digital One is the newest all-inclusive label press from Mark Andy, offering CMYK digital printing on a pay-as-you-go model. Yeah, you read that right. No click charges. The standalone press boasts in-line converting and decorating, all while supporting the growing demand for short run label work.
The press accepts a wide range of substrates including:
Pressure sensitive paper and film
BOPP and more!
Set Up Success
The UK technical team was able to see the short run label press in person for the first time since its’ launch at Labelexpo Americas 2016. In less than 3 and a half hours, the press was unloaded and fully installed on the demo room floor. Within that time frame our Senior Mechanical Technician was also able to train the entire UK staff to print on the press, proving the simplicity and ease of use of the machine.
Craig Hopley, UK Service Technician, provided the following comment on the installation process:
“With over 30 years in the printing industry, this was by far the easiest press installation. The Digital One is so simple to understand that with less than 2 hours of training I was printing samples for the show. It’s the ideal press to compliment a busy flexo house.”
With over 45 converters in attendance, the two day event proved to be very successful. Demos were in full swing, highlighting the simple inline converting and decorating provided by Digital One. Business leaders and production personnel were able to get up close and personal with the digital press, which sat alongside our Performance Series P4, fully equipped with ProLED UV curing.
The agenda also consisted of an in-depth Q&A opportunity and one-on-one digital consultation with our staff. All attendees walked away with a better understanding of the hybrid platform and Mark Andy’s commitment to the digital converter.
Tom Cavalco, newly promoted Managing Director for Mark Andy Europe stressed that this event is just the beginning of Digital One’s journey across Europe.
“This past week has set the stage for what is coming from Mark Andy in 2017. European demand for digital capabilities is continually increasing, and we are working to schedule similar events with our network of distributors in response.”
In the coming week Digital One will be shipped to our Poland facility for customer demos and Mark Andy’s European Open House to be held in early April. If you are interested in seeing the press in action before then, get in touch with one of our team members today!
