Mark Andy to Exhibit at Packaging Innovations 2018

The leading American manufacturer of narrow web presses, Mark Andy, will be exhibiting at Packaging Innovations for the first time.

Renowned for its range of high-performance flexo and digital hybrid presses for the label and packaging markets, Mark Andy will give United Kingdom converters another chance to witness its Digital One label press in action.

Digital One is a CMYK dry toner press for prime labels, and has been designed for converters who currently do not have sufficient business to need a production-level digital solution. The entry-level unit is also an attractive micro run solution for converters who currently run full production digital presses. Digital One is an inline solution at an affordable price. Available with a 330mm web width, the hybrid platform includes a CMYK dry toner unit preceded by a web cleaner, and followed by a flexo station for cold foil or lamination, and finally a die cutting unit.

The main benefits of the Digital One are that it can handle a variety of standard substrates without the need for pre-treatment. And, without a ‘click’ charge to pay, the only cost incurred is the inexpensive toner. Digital One also has a very low power requirement, which is vital in today’s market of rising energy costs.

From unwind, through web cleaning to digital printing, the press is easy to understand and operate from its central touchscreen panel. The single flexo station allows for varnish application or a spot color. There is a UV lamp for curing, and a rotary die station that uses easy to change magnetic dies. After that, the matrix is removed, and the finished web rewound – simple, and all in one pass!

Also on the stand at Packaging Innovations will be a Rotoflex HSI inspection, slitting, and rewinding machine for roll-to-roll label production. Its operator-friendly horizontal orientation and durable design is focused on productivity, offering time and waste savings that increase efficiency in today’s demanding production environments. Available in 330mm or 440mm web widths, and with a top speed of 300m/min, the HSI is servo driven, and uses Rotoflex’s URC 2.0 control system.
