Students Open Day 2026 at Mark Andy: From Theory to Practice

On March 26, the European Technology Center of Mark Andy in Warsaw hosted another edition of Students Open Day – a recurring initiative aimed at supporting the development of future professionals in the printing industry. The event brought together approximately 120 students representing four high schools from three cities: Kalisz (two schools), Warsaw, and Zielonka. The participants had the opportunity to learn more about Mark Andy’s business, current market trends and – most importantly for them – experience modern label and packaging printing technologies in practice. The program included live demonstrations of three Mark Andy presses representing different technologies: flexo (Evolution Series E5), hybrid (Digital Series HD HighSpeed 1200), and toner-based (Digital Series Pro Plus).

Market and Technology Insights
The event was opened by Lena Chmielewska-Bontron, European Marketing Manager, and Lukasz Chruslinski, European Sales Manager. In his presentation, Lukasz Chruslinski outlined the characteristics of the printing industry, its current situation, and key development directions. Among the topics discussed were the growing importance of hybrid technologies, the use of RFID in printing, and the concept of the Digital Product Passport.

Live Technology Demonstrations

A key part of the event was the live press demonstrations, led by Lukasz Chruslinski and Lukasz Kaczynski, Demo Room Manager. Students had the opportunity to see three Mark Andy solutions in operation. The first was the high-performance Evolution Series E5 flexo press, designed for stable, high-volume production while maintaining top print quality and process control. Particular attention was drawn to

Digital Series HD HighSpeed 1200 – one of the most advanced and fastest UV inkjet solutions in narrow web, developed for high-efficiency label production. The final demonstration featured Digital Series Pro Plus, a versatile next-generation toner-based press designed for companies seeking high-quality output combined with production flexibility, performing equally well in both short and medium run lengths.

Technology in Practice
An important part of the program was the hands-on workshop session, during which participants carried out selected tasks from a real production workflow. Students gained practical experience in mounting photopolymer plates, preparing print jobs, setting registration, and operating flexo and digital presses. For many of them, it was the first direct exposure to a professional production environment.
An additional highlight was the opportunity to print their own photos on labels prepared specifically for the event, which proved highly popular and provided a memorable conclusion to the visit.

“Investing in the Future of the Industry”
“Students Open Day is an important initiative for us in building relationships with the younger generation and supporting the development of skills within the industry. We see a strong need for education in the field of labels and packaging, and through events like this, we want to show young people that this is a modern, dynamic sector offering wide opportunities for professional growth, specialist knowledge development, research, and working with innovative technologies. We are pleased with the strong interest in the event and the active engagement of participants, who had the chance to see what modern label production looks like in practice,” summarizes Przemyslaw Polkowski, Director Mark Andy Poland.
