Mark Andy Spotlights Productivity, Speed and Innovation at ESD Conference Main Sponsor in Istanbul

Mark Andy was the main sponsor of the recent conference organized by ESD (Etiket Sanayicileri Derneği), the Turkish Association of Label Manufacturers.  Held in Istanbul on April 29th, the conference attracted more than 140 delegates who had the opportunity to see two Mark Andy presses presented via live video stream from the company’s European Technology Center in Warsaw.

On working demo via the video link were the Mark Andy Digital Series HD HighSpeed 1200 UV inkjet/flexo hybrid press, and the Mark Andy Evolution Series E5 flexo press.  The same job was printed on both presses, allowing delegates to see first-hand how selecting the right technology for a given task can deliver significant benefits without any compromise in quality. Each delegate was then presented with sample labels that had been previously printed on the two presses.

Florian Stroe, Mark Andy’s Sales Manager for Turkey, welcomed guests on behalf of the company.  He was followed by Tom Cavalco, VP of International Sales Mark Andy who presented the current situation on the label and packaging market, with insights into global and geopolitical trends, a focus on digital product passport (DPP), and RFID technology, each of which Mark Andy is addressing with innovative solutions.  Mr Cavalco presented two of them: the company’s newest flexo press, the Performance Series S9, and the hybrid Digital Series HD HighSpeed 1200, which is currently the fastest UV inkjet press on the market.

A key part of Mark Andy’s presence at the Istanbul conference was the live press demos.  The capabilities of Digital Series HD HighSpeed 1200 and Evolution Series E5 were presented via video transmission.  The demonstrations were conducted by Lukasz Kaczyński, Demo Room Manager at the Mark Andy Europe Technology Center in Warsaw, and Florian Stroe.

By having both presses print the same job delegates were able to closely compare the strengths of UV inkjet and flexo technology.  As emphasised during the presentation, the choice of technology does not affect the final product quality, which means that converters equipped with both systems have the flexibility to choose the most cost-effective option depending on run length, job complexity, and client requirements.

The Digital Series HD HighSpeed 1200, capable of 146m/min, is described by Mark Andy as the fastest UV inkjet narrow-web press on the label market, offering twice the speed of its predecessor, the Digital Series HD.  It is Mark Andy’s response to key market demands such as shorter print runs, growing demand for versioned labels, and the need to reprint previous jobs with updated content.

The second press showcased, the Evolution Series E5, is based on flexo technology and offers a maximum speed of 230m/min.  It is fully scalable, meaning it can be upgraded in line with the evolving needs of the user.  The Evolution Series E5 is ideal for producing a wide range of applications including labels, bottle wraps, IML labels, and shrink sleeves.

The demonstrations were very well received by the delegates and reflected Mark Andy’s business philosophy encapsulated in the motto: ‘Your Growth is Our Growth’.  They also clearly illustrated how the company’s technology and tailored solutions can support customers in achieving their production goals and driving long-term business success.
