Codex Ltd. Earns Gold and Silver at FTA Excellence in Flexography Awards Utilizing Mark Andy Technology

Mark Andy Inc. is thrilled to highlight the outstanding achievement of its customer, Codex Ltd, who has been honored with a prestigious Silver Award in the Narrow Web category of the FTA Excellence in Flexography Awards.

The FTA Excellence in Flexography Awards is the premier awards program for the flexographic industry. They were announced at the FTA FORUM & INFOFLEX 2024 event, which took place in Kansas City, MO, May 5 – 8.

Established in 1988, Codex Printing House has built a distinguished legacy in creating securities and various other counterfeit-resistant documents. Since originally focusing on securities and security documents, it has expanded its expertise and technological capabilities to become a leader in specialty printing solutions across Central Europe.

Today, Codex excels as the top manufacturer of booklet labels in the region, leveraging cutting-edge narrow web flexo and screen-printing technologies. The addition of Mark Andy’s Digital Series HD press, a true hybrid combining elements of digital and flexo within the machine, has propelled Codex forward, allowing for unprecedented product innovation. Their diverse offerings now encompass a vast array of multilayer labels, security labels, and postage stamps, all benefiting from the latest advancements in roll-to-roll technology.

Codex was recognized for its exceptional work on the Hungarian Szerencsi Chocolate Scented Postage Stamp, which received a Gold award, and the Hungarian Easter Postage Stamp, which received a Silver. Both are an exemplary display of precision and quality in narrow web printing and were produced on a Mark Andy 8-color Evolution series press.

The Hungarian Easter stamp impressed the judges with its super-fine text and tough reverses out of 4-color process. The Hungarian Szerencsi Chocolate Scented stamp was recognized for its challenging registration. Both earned accolades in the category of Narrow Web, Process, Coated Paper.

Trisha Smith, Global Marketing Manager at Mark Andy, shared, “We are proud of Codex’s achievement and honored to be a part of their journey.
